A Dual Path: The Journey of a Journalist & Research Scholar

My fascination with written media began at a young age; growing up in Cuba ignited a profound curiosity and passion for learning within me. As a child, with minimal access to cable TV or internet, I spent my time playing outside or immersed in reading. Opting for the latter, I started with books and newspapers, soon devouring entire papers from front page to last, while exploring my writing skills in various ways.
By the time I completed my B.A. in Journalism in Cuba, I was certain that journalism was my calling. At 26, I ventured to Argentina to pursue a M.S. in International Relations and a Ph.D. in Literary Studies. Already during my undergraduate years, I developed a fascination for academic work, a passion that grew stronger while living in Argentina pursuing my postgraduate studies. This experience solidified my commitment to both journalism and academia, which are now my two great passions. By the age of 28, I relocated to Miami, FL, with my family, continuing to pursue these passions in a new setting.
Throughout my journey, my love for learning, reading, teaching, and communicating, has only grown stronger. The rest is history.
